5th Annual Congress of German Business Promoters in Berlin
13.11.2006
Some 150 business promoters from 82 local authorities across Germany will gather in Berlin for their annual conference November 16 and 17.
The 5th Annual Congress of German Business Promoters will be held under the motto "Actively securing locations". As in previous years, the conference has been organized jointly by the German Association of Cities and the business development agencies of Berlin and Freiburg. For the first time ever, the event will be held in the Berlin offices of the state of Baden-Wurttemberg.
This year's deliberations will focus on optimizing locations. According to Dr. Bernd Dallmann, the chairman of the German Association of Cities business promotion commission, this is only possible by significantly increasing the coordination and synchronization of the activities of the players at the national, regional, and local level. What locational factors make a decisive difference for companies? What preparations are being made to meet the challenges of tomorrow? How can companies be bound to their location and new ones attracted? These and other questions will be addressed at the annual conference and discussed in greater detail during the workshops.
Conference speakers include Peter Hintze (Parliamentary Secretary of State in the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology), Dr. Ulrich Maly (the Mayor of Nuremburg), Prof. Dr. Eckard Minx (the head of the DaimlerChrysler "Society and Technology" research group), Bertram Brossardt (CEO, Bavarian Employers' Association of the Metal and Electrical Industry), and Dr. Michael Haidinger (Chairman, Rolls-Royce Germany). The six workshops will tackle corporate financing, training and employment, infrastructure and commercial zones, securing locations and fostering corporate loyalty, handicrafts, and information and communication.
- The event is free of charge to journalists.
- However, we would ask you to register in advance for organizational reasons.
