Berlin Fashion Week 2012

11.01.2012

The Capital Turns into a Runway

Between January 17 and January 22 the Berlin Fashion Week will introduce the newest collections and trends by designers and labels from Berlin, Germany, and the entire world for the upcoming Fall/Winter season 2012. During this week, Berlin will once again become a meeting point and a global hub for Fashion Victims, trade specialists and the media. All the important information pertaining to the events is available, of course, online: The official Internet portal started by Berlin Partner, www.fashion-week-berlin.com, has donned a new outfit this year – complete with video clips for everyone without tickets to the shows. For the first time this season, the Fashion Calendar TWELVE is available for free download: www.fashion-week-berlin.com/de/premiere

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin shows, with a view of the Brandenburg Gate on Straße des 17. Juni, are highlights of the Berlin Fashion Week. SHOW & ORDER and THE GALLERY BERLIN will celebrate their premieres. The leading international trade fair for street and urban wear, BREAD & BUTTER, will take place January 18 – 20, 2012  at the site of the Tempelhof Airport and the fashion show PREMIUM, the street wear show BRIGHT, in fashion berlin and the New York Trade Show (capsule) round out the week.

Berlin will show itself from its ‘green-fashion’ side this season, too. Lavera Showfloor Berlin’s public shows will join in, as will the GREENshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show.

The Showroom Days will take place largely as public events in different locations for everyone interested in fashion with the slogan “Are you poor enough?”

Berlin Partner has been supporting the Berlin Fashion Week’s events together with the Berlin Senate government since 2007. The Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Research co-finances individual events while Berlin Partner markets the capital as an emerging fashion metropolis and a location for business.
