Berlin Fashion Week

Berlin, Jan. 30, 2026 – As January draws to a close, one thing is certain in Berlin: Fashion Week is back. From Jan. 30 to Feb. 2, the German capital once again turns into a global stage for fashion – bringing together designers, industry professionals and style enthusiasts from around the world. The focus, however, extends far beyond the runway. Alongside shows by established labels and rising talents, attention is increasingly shifting to showrooms, stores and a wide range of side events. These are the spaces where industry experts meet fashion lovers who influence the scene in their own ways. Together with the participating brands and designers, they embody the values shaping this season’s guiding theme: freedom, inclusion, diversity and creativity  – principles that are deeply woven into Berlin’s identity.

Scheduled directly after Copenhagen Fashion Week and ahead of New York Fashion Week, Berlin Fashion Week has secured a firm place on the international fashion calendar. This year’s shows, presentations and side events once again unfold at distinctive venues across the city, highlighting fashion’s close relationship with Berlin itself. Locations include BIKINI Berlin, Hotel Zoo, Alte Münze, Quantum Galerie, HUMANA Second Hand, the Colosseum cinema, Liquidrom, the lecture hall ruins of the Berlin Museum of Medical History, the Gemäldegalerie and Kraftwerk. Chosen with intent, these sites reflect Berlin’s subcultures, urban edge and creative energy, making fashion tangible as part of everyday urban life.

As in previous years, Berlin Partner is implementing the overarching brand campaign for Berlin Fashion Weekk on behalf of the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises (SenWEB). The campaign aims to further strengthen Berlin’s profile as a fashion hub – nationally and internationally. To that end, Berlin Partner has commissioned the Fashion Council Germany (FCG), which is overseeing the campaign in collaboration with the agencies Press Factory and Uhura Digital.  Berlin Partner is also coordinating the content-creator campaign with the social and influencer agency Intermate to generate additional visibility around Berlin Fashion Week.      .

Fashion in conversation with the city

From Jan. 30 to Feb. 2, a total of 30 shows are scheduled. Many of them are created by the winners of two concept competitions, Berlin Contemporary and Studio2Retail. Both formats are funded by the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises as part of the state initiative Project Future, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

For Berlin Contemporary, an independent jury selected 19 designers whose work stands out for its craftsmanship as well as its thoughtful engagement with sustainability and diversity. Each selected label receives funding of €25,000. The Fall/Winter 2026 recipients include established names such as GmbH, Namilia andWilliam Fan, alongside emerging labels including DAGGER, Laura Gerteand MARKE.

Studio2Retail takes a different approach by bringing Berlin Fashion Week into public space. Brands, stores and showrooms open their doors to a broad Berlin audience. Five grants of €5,000 support the selected concepts. This season’s awardees include Buzigahill, John Lawrence Sullivanand Kenneth Ize. One grant is reserved exclusively for labels from African countries and goes this year to Nigerian brand Orange Culture, which also receives additional support in production, communications and guest management.

In addition to classic runway shows, Berlin Fashion Week continues to explore new presentation formats. The INTERVENTION runway concept by Reference Studios showcases four selected labels, including GmbHand DAGGER. The program is complemented by METAMORPHOSIS Talks powered by eBay, which bring together fashion professionals, creatives and the public to discuss circularity and future-oriented business models.

Invitation or not, Berlin Fashion Week opens its doors to Berliners and visitors alike – offering a clear vision, strong partnerships and a values-driven program that encourages everyone to experience fashion as a shared, evolving practice.
