FIBE 2025

Berlin, 09 April 2025 – When experts and representatives of companies and startups come together in the CityCube at the Berlin Exhibition Centre to discuss trends, innovations and developments in the areas of finance, technology and digitalisation, it’s that time again: FIBE is opening its doors. The international FinTech Festival, which will take place from 9 to 10 April, 2025, celebrated its premiere last year and is once again an integral part of the industry’s calendar. A varied program awaits the participants. The focus will be on discussions and opportunities for exchange on innovative FinTech topics such as Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, digital currencies and other disruptive technologies related to FinTech. At the same time, this year the aim is once again to build a bridge between traditional banking and FinTech and promote the vital dialogue between established financial institutions and innovative startups. The basis for this is formed by interactive formats such as panel discussions, networking sessions, pitches and informal meetings on the “Späti Stage” – the impulses required ultimately come from the participants themselves.

Together with Messe Berlin, the Berlin Finance Initiative and Handelsblatt, Berlin Partner has launched the Festival 2024 and will be a partner at the de:hub stand and at the FinTech Ladies Network networking event this year. In its role as Berlin’s business development agency, Berlin Partner is also actively committed to networking Berlin companies with international stakeholders within the framework of FIBE in order to strengthen Berlin as a leading location for FinTech innovations.

However, the city will maintain its leading position in this area not only on site at the exhibition grounds over the next two days, but also beyond. A recent analysis by Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) from March 2025 shows that the Spree metropolis is the leading FinTech location in Germany with 189 active FinTech companies and around 12,300 employees. Dynamic developments in areas such as enterprise software, in which 17% of Berlin’s FinTech companies now specialise, clearly demonstrate the great potential Berlin offers as a location – including for specialised technology solutions with a specific target group. Or expressed in numbers: Of the 32 German FinTech companies with a valuation of more than €100 million, 75% are based in Berlin. In international comparison, the capital ranks 8th in the global ranking of top cities for FinTech startups.

In order to improve the location conditions further and strengthen the existing dynamic, Berlin Partner founded the “House of Finance and Tech Berlin” (HoFT) last year together with IBB and the Berlin Finance Initiative. As a permanent contact point for the FinTech industry, the HoFT aims to offer founders, investors and experts the opportunity to network and jointly reduce barriers to growth and promote further development. For example, a lack of funding opportunities both in the early pre-seed phases and in the scale-up area are among the current challenges for industry stakeholders. Targeted support programs are intended to provide relief. The participants of FIBE 2025 will certainly also discuss further possibilities intensively.
