Kuna Dienstleistungs GmbH

Leonard Kuna, Sales Manager

Robert Kuna, Managing Director

Pascal Kuna, Operations Manager

1.  Describe your company in a tweet.

"The deed distinguishes the goal from the dream" - Our goal and our destiny is to be an integral part of the cityscape in Berlin as a quality leader in winter services and street cleaning, and to contribute to the general well-being of Berliners in every situation. In doing so, we consider the familiar as our adversary.

2.  Why are you involved as a Berlin-Partner?

As an up-and-coming company in its second generation, it is important for us to drive our development together with our home city of Berlin and, as an economic entity, to adapt our entrepreneurial direction to the needs of our immediate environment. With the certification of the quality management according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and with the next step, the joining of the network of Berlin Partner, we would like to underline our quality promise to the customer.

Furthermore, we would like to enter into cooperations and partnerships with like-minded people and sustainably strengthen the general economic situation in Berlin.

Berlin's economy is very diverse and known for its traditional industry, strong medium-sized businesses and the center for the start-up scene. In addition, research and sports as well as culture and politics are unique. It is hard to highlight all areas of Berlin at the same time and even harder to reach all of them, which is why Berlin Partner offers the only opportunity to combine the diversity of the city in one place and bring out numerous potential synergy effects.

We can all have essential meetings and become stronger as a community through this wonderful place, the network of Berlin-Partner.

I think a lot about the future because this is where I'm going to spend the rest of my life. - Woody Allen

3.  What issues drive you in terms of your industry?

With our young team, the technical expertise of our mentors and the experience of over 30 years in the industries, we have a strong forward momentum and are always looking to find the most efficient and best solution and generate value for our customers. Thus, we consistently invest in digitalized and sustainable business processes.

In addition, in all service segments and especially in winter services and street cleaning with large sweepers, we rely on an ever larger and younger fleet of vehicles, with the most modern machines and high-performance cleaning technologies in Berlin. Of course, these investments minimize our CO-2 emissions, which we publish once a year in our environmental report.

4.  What makes Berlin special for you?

From the seat of government to the general infrastructure and research facilities, Berlin offers a complex range of tasks for us as a service provider and a high degree of diversity. Due to Berlin's historical containment and division, the city literally cries out for freedom, unity and further development. Berlin is a city of positive contradictions: quick access despite a large area, many people, a high quality of life, and familiar faces and a lot of history everywhere.

5.  Why is Berlin attractive for your company?

The great potential for growth and development, due to Berlin's ever-expanding imaginary city limits.

6.  What does Berlin stand for?

Berlin stands for our common future, which holds a lot of potential in every respect through proactive thinking and colorful encounters with open-minded people.

7.  How does your company implement the topic of sustainability?

For us, sustainability is a trilogy: economy, ecology and social issues. SUSTAINABILITY is a top priority at KUNA. We want to live well instead of having a lot, so for us it starts with the human resource and ends with the products and machines we use to serve our customers.

Our corporate philosophy is a value-oriented one that treats every person who interacts with KUNA with admiration. Furthermore, we invest in the continuous rejuvenation of our fleet and the optimization of our tours and routes for the maximum minimization of CO-2 emissions. Our management level, only has all-electric or plug-in hybrid business vehicles to keep the air clean in the city center. In addition, we pay strong attention to regional products in purchasing to strengthen the local economy and ensure short supply chains as well as delivery routes. Our expanded shale winter grit is a purely mineral, salt-free natural product that is particularly ecological and also loosens the soil and exposes the nutrients.

Constant willingness to innovate, to change, to increase productivity as well as the transparency and credibility of our actions are our driving force.

It is courageous to stand up for the environment. But it is even more courageous to preserve the environment with our own honesty. - Peter Ervens
