VISIONARY METROPOLIS OF THE IDEA-REPUBLIC GERMANY
The past two years have presented the global economy and companies in Germany and Berlin with extraordinary challenges. However, both economic development figures and the Berlin-Partner-results show that Berlin's companies have responded better than average to the crisis.
In the past 2023, 10.124 new jobs were created in the 269 projects we successfully managed.
Berlin School of Business & Innovation
Michael Ferenc, Careers Service Manager, Berlin School of Business & Innovation
1. Describe your company in a tweet.
The Berlin School of Business and Innovation (BSBI) is a private business school in Berlin. Since spring 2018, it has been offering its students study programmes in English. BSBI is based on three core concepts - entrepreneurship, leadership skills and success.
2. Why are you involved as a Berlin-Partner?
At BSBI, we place a lot of emphasis on hands-on experience in the business world through corporate visits, networking events, employer presentations and various collaborative projects with local and global organisations. The Berlin Partner Network provides us with a platform to connect with over 240 institutions in business and academia with whom we would like to develop long-term partnerships.
3. What issues drive you in relation to your industry?
- Learning experiences available online and offline
- Technology
- Promotion
- Career guidance
4. What makes Berlin special for you?
Berlin cannot be compared to any other city in the world. Not only has the city survived the turbulent years of World War II and the construction and fall of the Berlin Wall. Thanks to its long history, it is now the epicentre of entrepreneurship, culture, politics and tourism.
5. Why is Berlin attractive for your business?
With one of the largest economies in the world, a hugely successful start-up community, excellent transport links both within Germany and abroad, and a relatively affordable cost of living, Berlin is a hotspot for students, entrepreneurs and aspiring business people.
Berlin is the second largest city in the European Union. The city is home to hundreds of dynamic small businesses, especially tech companies such as Rocket Internet, SoundCloud and Splash as well as established international companies such as Siemens, Deutsche Bahn and Sony.
Berlin offers graduate and professional students a wide range of opportunities and supports new entrepreneurs. For our students, this is an important factor when choosing where to study.
6. What does Berlin stand for?
Berlin is a centre for young entrepreneurs where students can gain experience in a dynamic work environment.
7. How does your company implement the topic of sustainability?
BSBI holds events on the topic of sustainability as part of Café Scientifique. These events enable ongoing collaboration and stimulate healthy debates on academic and business issues and help build a thriving, growing community. To discuss sustainability more thoroughly, the BSBI Café Scientifique held a session with our guest speaker Daniel Taras, Head of Sustainable Economic Transformation and Finance from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. This gave our students the opportunity to learn why we need a sustainable economy and how to achieve it. Watch the recording here.
The latest issue of our magazine Pioneer also focuses on sustainable transformation. In it we featured Dr Jannic Horne, co-founder and CEO of ImpactNexus, which champions sustainable business models. This company appeals to millions of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) worldwide who cannot afford costly consultants or in-house experts. Watch the interview here!
