Berlin goes Canada

Berlin, April 13, 2026 – What do Deel Germany GmbH, AneCom AeroTest GmBH, PACE Aerospace Engineering and Information Technology GmbH, ALLEX Projects GmbH, RAVE.SPACE GmbH and Center for hybrid electric systems Cottbus GmbH / CHESCO GmbH have in common? Quite a lot, as it turns out. They all operate in aerospace or high-tech engineering. All are based in Berlin or Brandenburg. And all are part of a Berlin business delegation traveling to Canada from April 12 to 16, 2026 – specifically to the International Aerospace Innovation Forum in Montréal. They are heading to the right place.  According to the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada, Canada ranks among the world’s top five aerospace hubs.  The sector employs around 225,000 people,  and more than 70 % of its production is exported.[1] It is little surprise, then, that Canada is a key market for the industry – and that Berlin’s aerospace sector has maintained close ties with Canadian companies for years.

In Canada, the Berlin-Brandenburg delegation – organized by Berlin Partner for Business and Technology – will join a broader German delegation and take part in a joint program alongside other participating companies.  Around 50 business representatives in total will attend the forum in Montréal and visit local companies.

The forum, taking place from April 13 to 14, 2026, is widely regarded as one of the aerospace industry’s leading cross-sector gatherings.  Decision-makers, innovators, and company representatives from around the world come together to exchange knowledge and build connections.  The event serves as both a trade show and a catalyst for investment and international partnerships.  This year, more than 1,500 executives and experts are expected to attend.[2]  Germany is the designated Country of Honor, placing it firmly in the spotlight. The Berlin-Brandenburg capital region will be represented with its own booth in the German pavilion.

And the exchange goes both ways. In June 2026, Berlin will host a Canadian delegation at the ILA Berlin Air Show, supported on site by Berlin Partner and Germany Trade & Invest.  Held every two years, ILA is one of the world’s leading aerospace industry platforms.   In 2024, it brought together 600 exhibitors from 31 countries, 95,000 visitors, and 200 delegations from 60 countries.[3]

From Berlin to Montréal and back, the capital region’s aerospace industry is deeply connected internationally – and continues to demonstrate its strength at home.  Events like the International Aerospace Innovation Forum and ILA 2026 offer valuable opportunities to forge new collaborations, deepen partnerships, and drive innovation forward.
