Transfer Week Berlin

Berlin, November 24, 2025 – Sharing is caring. That applies to knowledge, expertise, and experience — perhaps more than anything else. Fittingly, Berlin will once again put a spotlight on knowledge and technology transfer from November 24 to 28, 2025. Transfer Week Berlin-Brandenburg returns, bringing together researchers, entrepreneurs, and innovators to exchange ideas, showcase and discuss new technologies, and spark new collaborations. All share a common goal: to strengthen the transfer of knowledge between research and industry and to boost the capital region’s innovative capacity.

The week kicks off with an opening conference at the Forum Digitale Technologien on Salzufer. On site, Kristin Schreiber, Director for Chemicals, Bioeconomy, Food, and Textiles in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, will set the stage with an overview of the region’s future transfer ecosystem. After her remarks, representatives from politics and business will join a panel discussion – including speakers from the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), IBB Ventures, the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises, Berlin Partner, BIFOLD, UNITE, and the local business community. Their conversation will be guided by one central question: How can Berlin stay on track to become Europe’s leading innovation hub? The conference will also spotlight concrete transfer projects that illustrate what successful collaboration looks like in practice.

In the days that follow, participants and interested audiences – both on site and online – can explore a wide-ranging program of events. Across Berlin and Brandenburg, the agenda features workshops, discussion rounds, and interactive sessions covering topics such as production in the age of AI, immersive technologies, and cybersecurity in the energy transition.

Another highlight of the week is the series of bilateral matchmaking sessions, held in person during the opening conference and online on Thursday, November 27, 2025. Participants have 10 minutes per meeting to make targeted new connections and meet potential collaboration partners. On Friday, November 28, the spotlight shifts to funding and finance. Online sessions will present a range of programs – including the EIC Accelerator, the Central Innovation Program for SMEs (ZIM), and tax-based R&D incentives. IBB Ventures will host an on-site discussion titled “IP Transfer in Academic Spin-offs: A Venture Capital Perspective.” That evening, the 2025 Berlin-Brandenburg Innovation Award ceremony will cap off the week.

Alongside the discussions and networking formats, participants can use a virtual marketplace to showcase their projects, search for suitable partners, or post collaboration requests. The platform is designed to make ideas more visible and spark new connections and partnerships.

Transfer Week is organized by Berlin Partner together with numerous partners from academia, industry, and public administration. The goal is clear: innovation and collaboration are not optional add-ons, but core drivers of economic and scientific progress in the capital region.
