WE Tower GmbH

Burhan Aykut, CEO of WE Tower GmbH

1. Please describe your company in a few sentences.

WE Tower GmbH develops next-generation mobility hubs: intelligent energy and mobility centers for the cities of tomorrow. On a footprint of just 50 square meters, our mobility hubs combine space-efficient parking, electric mobility, charging infrastructure, photovoltaic systems, battery storage, bidirectional charging (Vehicle-to-Grid), digital services, and smart city technologies within one integrated system. Our infrastructure intelligently generates, stores, distributes, and connects energy, actively contributing to the mobility and energy transition while supporting grid stability.

2. Why are you engaged as a Berlin-Partner?

Berlin is the birthplace of our innovation and the ideal location for bringing future technologies to market maturity. As a Berlin Partner, we want to work closely with businesses, academia, policymakers, and public institutions to actively shape the mobility and energy transition and further strengthen Berlin’s position as an international model region for sustainable mobility and energy solutions.

3. Which topics drive you in relation to your industry?

We no longer view mobility as an isolated sector, but as an integral part of an intelligent energy system. That is why we develop mobility hubs that generate, store, distribute, and digitally manage energy. Our key focus areas include intelligent charging infrastructure, bidirectional charging (Vehicle-to-Grid), battery storage, renewable energy, automated parking, smart city applications, artificial intelligence, and the intelligent integration of vehicles, buildings, and power grids. Our goal is to create infrastructure that makes cities more sustainable, efficient, and resilient.

4. What makes Berlin special to you?

Berlin combines innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, and international diversity like few other metropolitan regions. The close collaboration between businesses, research institutions, start-ups, and policymakers creates ideal conditions for rapidly bringing new technologies into practice and showcasing them on a global stage.

5. Why is Berlin attractive for your company?

Berlin offers one of Europe’s strongest innovation ecosystems. The city brings together world-class research, international talent, strong networks, and a high level of openness to new technologies. For us, Berlin is the ideal starting point for developing sustainable mobility and energy solutions and scaling them internationally.

6.  What does Berlin stand for, in your view?

Berlin stands for innovation, openness, sustainability, and the courage to rethink the future. The city demonstrates that economic success, technological progress, and social responsibility can go hand in hand.

7.  How does your company approach sustainability?

Sustainability is the foundation of our business. Our mobility hubs combine photovoltaic systems, battery storage, charging infrastructure, bidirectional charging, green façades, and an exceptionally space-efficient design. This enables us to generate, store, and utilize renewable energy directly on site.

Stationary battery storage systems and, in the future, bidirectionally connected electric vehicles can absorb surplus energy and feed it back into the power grid when needed. In this way, our systems support grid stability, promote the integration of renewable energy sources, and make an active contribution to the decarbonization of urban environments.

At the same time, we save valuable space and create sustainable infrastructure for future generations.
