C/O Berlin

Stephan Erfurt, Founder and Chairman of the Board, C/O Berlin

1. Describe your interior in a Tweet!

Supposedly the best place for a first date - visually always inspiring, C/O Berlin not only makes the hearts of photography lovers beat faster. #photolovestory

2. Why are you involved as a Berlin Partner?

For C/O Berlin, there were and still are many opportunities to help shape Berlin's cultural landscape. For us, especially strong cooperation partners in the city are a guarantee to draw the attention of Berliners as well as tourists to our diverse activities. It is therefore all the more gratifying to know that we have a particularly important player within the city at our side in the form of Berlin Partner.

3. What topics drive you in relation to your industry?

The topics that are particularly close to C/O Berlin's heart are the conquest of the digital space and the promotion of young talent. We also want to continue to create a sustainable educational offering and make visible artistic positions that have been overlooked by the history of photography. The world is colorful and multifaceted, let's just show that.

4. What makes Berlin special for you?

I personally like the breaks in the cityscape, Berlin's cultural diversity and willingness to change. Berlin is an international metropolis and yet remains the same at its heart. I still like that every day - the different Berlin neighborhoods where East meets West, cosmopolitans meet Berliners, the Späti salesman meets the new hipster.

5. Why is Berlin attractive for your institution?

Many photographers, artists, and creatives are drawn to Berlin because here past, present, and future enter into an extraordinary dialogue. C/O Berlin benefits immensely from this creative work in the city, but at the same time we also provide inspiration and participate in the dialogue between past, present, and future, precisely through the medium of photography.

6. How does your institution implement the topic of sustainability?

Sustainability is a very important topic for us. The C/O Berlin team is involved in a working group and is developing ideas to make us climate-friendly in the medium term. We currently have busy housemates on our terrace: bees that are diligently pollinating the flowers in our surroundings and will soon present us with a delicious honey harvest.
