mc-quadrat Markenagentur und Kommunikationsberatung

Jens-Rainer Jänig, Managing Partner mc-quadrat

1. Please describe your company in a few sentences.

Consulting, design, and content for brands and companies: We are experts in brand and corporate communications. Our focus lies on internal and external communication, corporate branding, and B2B marketing. Additionally, employer branding, employee experience design, B2G marketing, and—above all—transformation and change communication are among our strengths. We provide consulting, concept development, and implementation—across industries, nationwide, for companies, corporations, and institutions in culture, NGOs, and public administration for over 29 years.

With creative approaches and strategic expertise, we develop cross‑media campaigns and communication measures that shape corporate image and identity, generate attention, increase revenue, and reach stakeholders. We make even complex topics easy to understand.

Especially today, our long‑standing guiding principle couldn’t be more relevant:
Transformation needs communication.

We are pleased to be part of Berlin Partner again.

2. Why are you engaged as a Berlin-Partner?

Berlin has been mc-quadrat’s home for almost three decades, and the city is part of our DNA. It thrives on committed stakeholders and the courage to embrace change. Berlin Partner is a strong network that fits us—and to which we fit. We want to actively contribute as a corporate citizen of this city and engage with committed partners.

3. Which topics drive you in relation to your industry?

Our industry is currently shaped by the profound changes brought about by artificial intelligence and new technologies, which are fundamentally transforming communication, brand management, and workflows. This affects our clients as well as our internal processes. We have always explored new technologies early on—an advantage in integrating AI.
We started early and established internal structures to work productively and responsibly with AI. I believe that an experienced team combined with AI is a powerful asset for our clients, because it takes experience to apply the capabilities of AI effectively.

4. What makes Berlin special to you?

As Germany’s only true metropolis, Berlin is a place of friction, discourse, and creativity that leads to innovative solutions. The city pushes us to develop a stance, tolerate contradictions, and not only think about change but live it. This constant sense of incompleteness and the diversity in all its forms create a unique tension that I enjoy being part of.

5. Why is Berlin attractive for your company?

Societal, cultural, political, and economic developments become visible here early—partly because Berlin is simultaneously a city, a federal state, and the seat of government. Above all, there is no single Berlin for me. The city has countless facets, and each of us lives in our own personal version of it. That’s why I keep discovering something new—and I couldn’t ask for anything better.

6.  What does Berlin stand for, in your view?

Berlin stands for the diversity of a metropolis and thus for the foundation that fosters creativity in all its forms. It is also the political center of the country—and you can feel that.

7.  How does your company implement sustainability?

We have looked closely at the German Sustainability Code (DNK) and work to keep our ecological footprint low. Social sustainability has been part of our identity for more than 25 years—we support social institutions, participate in charitable associations, and engage in volunteer work for NGOs. We also have clear governance structures, not least because, as partners to numerous corporations, compliance is something we must—and want to—prioritize.
