ProBioGen AG

Dr. Lutz Hilbrich, CEO/Chairman of the Board, ProBioGen AG

1. Describe your company in a Tweet!

ProBioGen is an internationally operating biotech company with years of experience specializing in the development and production of biopharmaceutical active ingredients from cell cultures. Nearly 200 employees* contribute with their creative and diligent work to the establishment of new therapies in medicine and groundbreaking innovations worldwide.

2. Why are you involved as a Berlin Partner?

By serving our customers from all over the world, we are proud of our Berlin roots. This is because the research and creation of our technologies, as well as the development and production of the active ingredients we commission for our customers, are carried out exclusively in-house. With this scientific foundation we can guarantee absolute independence, quality and reliability. Our quality standards and quality assurance measures ensure that the value "Made in Germany" is maintained in the long term.

As a "true Berlin company", we have been contributing to innovative technologies in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 25 years. As a Berlin partner, we not only want to actively shape the future of our capital city, but also create a clear commitment. In this way, we can cultivate our connection to the city, expand the job market of the biotech industry and promote growth in Berlin.

3. What issues drive you in relation to your industry?

We have been writing our success story since 1994 and can look back with pride on a large number of innovative technologies developed in-house. Our daily focus is not only on supporting biopharmaceutical drug development, but ultimately on curing diseases or improving patients' quality of life - and we have been doing this for over 25 years. The medical research work behind this has always been close to our hearts.

4. What makes Berlin special for you?

As a cosmopolitan metropolis, Berlin offers opportunities to be at the cutting edge. The honest "Berlin snout", the tolerance, the MulitKulti, you are simply right in the middle of things - we appreciate that very much.

5. Why is Berlin attractive for your company?

Our roots are here, and we draw strength from them. We not only want to build on our success story of more than a quarter of a century, but also write a new chapter here. We feel that this cosmopolitan, dynamic and diverse environment provides the best breeding ground for this.

6. What does Berlin stand for?

Versatility - Internationality - Dynamic Environment.

7. How does your company implement the topic of sustainability?

Sustainability has many facets for us. On the one hand, this relates to environmentally relevant issues, where we provide water bottles and the corresponding water dispensers per floor for each employee*. On the other hand, sustainability is reflected in our job security and in our ProBeneFit program for employees who have been with the company for three years or more. Above all, however, we are developing internally in the direction of "digital transformation". We not only want to optimize our processes, but also drastically reduce paper filing and manual effort.
